This funding will play a crucial role in enabling their cutting-edge research, facilitating collaborations, and fostering academic excellence. As recipients of the Faculty Scholar Award, they will receive an annual grant of $10,000 for five years, which is specifically designated to enhance and advance their programs. These scholars have demonstrated exemplary dedication, expertise, and innovation in their fields. The UFS program, offered through the Office of the Provost, recognizes outstanding faculty at the West Lafayette campus who are on an accelerated path for academic distinction. She is also interested in various data mining applications in health care, bioinformatics, transportation, social science, cyber security and education. In particular, Gao is interested in information veracity analysis, crowdsourcing, knowledge graphs, multi-source data analysis, anomaly detection, transfer learning, text mining, and data stream mining. Gao’s research focuses on data and information analysis with a focus on data mining. These individuals have been selected by the Engineering Named Professorship Committee for their exceptional accomplishments and scholarly impacts. Gao is among five faculty members in the College of Engineering to be recognized for their outstanding performance. ![]() Jing Gao, associate professor in Purdue University’s Elmore Family School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been named a University Faculty Scholar (UFS).
